Middle School Book Drive, January 24-28: Donate your old books to build a new school in Nicaragua! (updated)

St. Andrew’s middle school students are holding a weeklong book drive January 24 through January 28 to help build a new school in Nicaragua. The goal of the book drive is to collect 5,000 pounds of used books in five days to help Project Schoolhouse, a nonprofit organization that collects donated used books and partners with Books Beyond Borders to resell and recycle them. The funds generated from the resale or recycling of the donated books finances the building of schools in developing countries worldwide.

There will be three drop-off locations available for used books during the January 24-28 book drive, located in the three carpool areas at St. Andrew’s. Student and faculty volunteers will be at these carpool stations from 7:15 to 7:50am every day of the book drive.

Your involvement, large or small, will help impact and change the way a child learns globally. Get involved today and help St. Andrew’s build a school to help children of the world. Questions? Please contact MS math teacher and book drive coordinator Joshua Nelson at jnelson@sasaustin.org.
