St. Andrew’s is pleased to announce that Mr. Tim Moore has been appointed Head of Middle School by Head of School Melissa Grubb.
We welcome Mr. Moore to his new role and invite you to join us in enthusiastically congratulating him!
Mr. Moore served St. Andrew’s Episcopal School as Dean of Students from 2014-2022 prior to serving as Interim Head of Middle School this year. While serving as Dean, he created an extensive student leadership program providing students opportunities to lead through a house system and numerous student organizations and created and taught Project Citizen, a capstone project that encourages active citizenship through community engagement. Both of these initiatives are now hallmarks of our Middle School program.
Prior to arriving at St. Andrew’s, Mr. Moore served as 7th and 8th grade Dean of Students at the Randolph School in Huntsville, Alabama, where he also taught history and was an award winning varsity basketball and tennis coach.
Tim earned a Bachelor’s Degree in History from The George Washington University and a Master’s Degree in Private School Leadership from the University of Hawai’i at Manoa.
He shared: "I feel incredibly grateful, honored, and privileged to be trusted to continue to lead the St. Andrew's Middle School. I knew from the minute I started my educational career two decades ago that middle school was my sweet spot, and having the opportunity to lead a tremendously talented group of teachers who prioritize our students above all is such an honor. I look forward to continuing all the great work that's been done by so many over the years to make the Middle School at St. Andrew's a place where students want to be each and every day, where they can expand on their natural curiosities about the world around them, and where they can feel a true sense of inclusion and belonging. Thank you to Mrs. Grubb, the hiring committee, and everyone who participated in this process."
One Middle School student leader shared, “He took us seriously even though he has been at this school for years and answered all our questions thoroughly and thoughtfully. He also shared some of his ideas to make the school better. I thought that it was cool that he had already been thinking about improving everyone's experience.”
