Senior Celebrations: The transition to Alumni
Senior Spring has officially begun, and that means the Class of 2022 will soon become our newest class of alumni. College decisions are coming in, and our seniors are preparing for the next step beyond St. Andrew’s. As they make the transition from student to alumni in May, the class will take on the Senior Challenge, during which they make the first steps to maintain a connection to St. Andrew’s long after they graduate. The Senior Challenge asks the class to update their personal email address, join our True Blue Alumni Network, and make a deferred pledge to the St. Andrew’s Fund to be paid at their 5 year reunion.
To kick off this time of class pride, a new event has made its way into senior celebrations: The Senior Wildflower Chapel in the PARK. This special Chapel was inaugurated with the Class of 2021 to provide a safe way to gather the entire class together for the first time in over a year (due to the pandemic). Though much has changed since then, the opportunity to gather together in the PARK and plant wildflower seeds to be enjoyed for years to come, has become a treasured service and activity for our Seniors and their Advisors.
Ahead of this year’s Wildflower Chapel, a group of alumni, students, faculty and friends came out to volunteer, clearing the space where the Class of 2022 would put down their wildflower seeds. Big thank you to Chad McLaren ’10, Erica Whaley, Elizabeth Guice, Jason Herd ‘95, Britt Herd ’28, Mother Whitney, Gray Eiland ’22 and (not pictured) Kyle Fadal ’05 for all of your help with this project!
