Lower School Celebrates Rosh Hashanah

Students in the Lower School celebrated Rosh Hashanah, the Jewish New Year, on September 23.
In the chapel garden, Ms. Goldman gathered students to speak on this special Jewish holiday. She shared that Rosh Hashanah is a time to reflect on the past year, look back on mistakes you might have made, and think ahead to your wishes for the new year.

After learning about this special day, students toasted to the new year with apples and honey, which are eaten every Rosh Hashanah to symbolize a sweet new year. They spent time writing cards for community members of the Jewish Community Center and thinking about their wishes for the coming year. Afterwards, they enjoyed live music by Mazel Tov Kocktail Hour, a local klezmer band.

It was certainly a sweet celebration of the Jewish New Year. Thank you to Ms. Goldman, Ms. Brandon, Rabbi Neil Blumofe, and our parent volunteers for a wonderful afternoon!
